About Dank’s Strain Reviews
If this is your first time watching one of our Strain Reviews, we’d like to give a brief introduction, a walkthrough, of some of the terms we use and why we rate the way we do.
Jeff and the other budtenders at Dank’s Wonder Emporium use a “Star Rating” System to determine the quality of each feature of each product. These features include but are not limited to: the packaging, the product structure (if applicable), the “nose” (the aroma of the product), the flavor, the smoothness or harshness, the effects, and the overall score of the product.
We also like to review the lab test results of the product, the price point, the genetics of the strain (if applicable) and share any infomation we have about the brand.
The test results of “Durban Poison” from Ali’s Group’s test weren’t mentioned, but according to the latest records on TopShelfData.com, this strain usually tests at 18.7 to 24.8%.
Keeping in mind that this is a top shelf brand, this strain of “Durban Poison” would sell for about $11.67 per gram.
Durban Poison is a pure Sativa that originates from the South African port city of Durban. It has gained notoriety worldwide for its sweet smell and energetic, uplifting effects.
Packaging ⭐ ⭐
The packaging is a basic Mylar bag with a viewing window, we’d always prefer to have our products in jars.
The “Nose” ⭐⭐⭐⭐
When you take a whiff of Alis Group’s “Durban Poison” you smell a combination of sweet and spicy. It smells good, like a product you would expect from a top shelf strain.
Trim Job ⭐⭐⭐
The trim job on this particular batch of “Durban Poison” is a little bit leafy, but it’s not too messy. There’s a small stem, but that is to be expected with almost any flower.
Nug Structure ⭐⭐⭐
The structure on this nug is so-so. We can see some of the structure fall apart as Jeff moves it around in his hands. However, the nug is dense and is comparative to others in this price range.
The flavor on “Durban Poison” is very mild, it’s hard to pick up at first. After you let the flavor set, you’ll pick up tastes of sweet and spicy, and maybe just a bit of pine.
Smoke Harshness ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jeff says this is one of the smoothest “Durban Poison”s he’s ever tried before. There is no harshness when smoking this product. (Trust us, that was a big bong rip!)
The Effects ⭐⭐⭐⭐
After smoking on “Durban Poison” Jeff describes the effects as being very uplifting and “heady”, though he also feels as though he has a great sense of clarity. He recommends this product for morning and afternoon sessions.
Overall Score ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jeff gave an overall score of 3.6, but we’ll be rounding this up to 4, considering the other positive reviews we have received on this product.
Buy, Try, or Puff-Puff Pass?
